Accredited calibration laboratory
The Utensil Line metrological laboratory is accredited as an ACCREDIA LAT N° 166 accredited calibration laboratory for the length and force sector, according to the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, and operates within the National Calibration Service (Servizio Nazionale di Taratura SNT) regulated by law 273/91.
“In calibration, the service excellence is not the search for the lowest uncertainty, but reflects the one most suited to the customers’ needs instead.”
There is a difference between the accreditation of a laboratory according to UNI EN ISO 17025 and UNI EN ISO 9001 certification. Contrary to ISO 9001 certification, accreditation according to ISO 17025 is based on specifically developed criteria and procedures to determine all technical competence of the calibration centre. Whereas the ISO 9001 certification only demonstrates compliance with management requirements, ISO 17025 demonstrates a specific technical expertise in performing calibrations.
To achieve accreditation, the laboratory must guarantee the traceability of the measurements made through its internal organisation. To this end, it is periodically subjected to audit by the accreditation bodyACCREDIA, which verifies the personnel’s technical, managerial and metrological skills, the principles of impartiality and confidentiality, transparency in communications, traceability of measurements, the relevance of the calibration methods used, the evaluation of the uncertainties and the results obtained from the ILC experimental comparisons.
The Accredited Calibration Laboratories are referred by the Italian Administrations and Public Bodies, by the Company Quality System Certification Bodies (in compliance with the ISO 9000 standard) and valid in the countries adhering to the Multilateral Agreements (MLA) of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
Our laboratory issues accredited calibration certificates covered by the EA MLA mutual recognition agreements. Upon request, it is possible to issue calibration reports, which do not constitute an accredited calibration certificate, do not guarantee traceability and are not covered by the international mutual recognition agreements EA MLA.

Repairs
The Utensil Line laboratory repairs dimensional measuring instruments of all brands, guaranteeing their functioning within the tolerances and error limits indicated by the manufacturer.
We carry out accurate equipment analysis, disassembly, cleaning through specific detergent products, replacement of damaged or worn parts with original spare parts, demagnetization and reassembly with final testing in the metrology room so that the repair is carried out perfectly and that the precision and reliability of the tools are guaranteed, metrologically confirming their performance.
Third-party measurements
We carry out third-party dimensional measurements using contact machines (CMM coordinate measuring machine, Contour tracer, Roughness tester, Roundness tester), optical machines and interferometric laser systems.
The dimensional verification of the mechanical parts is a fundamental phase of the quality control that follows all machining; therefore, we perform precision dimensional checks to verify the measurements of the prototypes, sampling, testing pieces and production batches with product identification, dimensional approval and data entry on customized reports.
